Escaping the city: The Orchid Show at the NY Botanical Garden

Orchid NY Botanical Garden

With the recent spring weather we’ve been enjoying in New York, I just had to escape the concrete jungle for some fresh air, rich greenery and beautiful flowers. I had never been to the NY Botanical Garden, and so I hopped on Metro-North and within 20 minutes I was there. The Glittering Bay Lights of the Golden Gate Bridge

The New York icon is celebrating its 100th year of existence and throwing an all-day party. And what better way to roll back the clock than with 1913 prices. Think 10-cent shoeshine, 13-cent mussels and 5-cent cups of coffee; nickels, dimes and quarters is all you need for the day. The building’s … [Read more...]

Postcard from Cancun

Cancun hotels

I would much rather prefer Playa del Carmen, another popular Mexican destination, and Cozumel and Tulum, that have an undeniable charm. That being said, Cancun makes for a perfectly decent Caribbean vacation. I found it to be quite safe, and very well … [Read more...]
