A dazzling 70th Annual Golden Globes

I am not one to love the winter, however given Awards Season kicked off, I am suddenly happy it’s January all over again. The 70th Annual Golden Globes is one of those coveted award nights where one expects to see the most glamorous gowns, and tonight has not disappointed. Add to that the unexpected presence of former US President Bill Clinton, and you know why it was one hell of a memorable night.

Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen

I think my favorite appearance of the night was Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen. Black, classy and mysterious - but with a golden edge to it - while not being overly exposed.

Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood

Another favorite was Jennifer Garner, who looked truly award-worthy in a va-va-voom Vivienne Westwood Couture burgundy sequin gown and golden statement earrings.

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors

Emily Blunt looked impeccable in a bold cutout golden Michael Kors dress, which had the perfect mix of elegance and spunk to it. The hot pink earrings were a nice touch to the already stunning look.

Leah Michelle In Elie Saab

Always looking red-carpet ready in thigh-high slits and generous cleavage, Leah Michele impressed me with this elegant Elie Saab creation. Loved the subtle slit and the shoes that added a vintage flair to the overall attire.

Naomi Watts in Zac Posen

The talented Naomi Watts also chose rich burgundy hues - the color of the year - wearing a sublimely elegant Zac Posen gown. Fully covered in the front, it featured a subtle train and diamond shaped cutout in the back.

Miranda Kerr Orlando Bloom Golden Globes

As for the best couples, my favorites were Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner and Daniel Craig with his lovely Rachel Weisz. However, one of my favorite fashion inspirations - supermodel Miranda Kerr - stepped it up in a risque slit burgundy dress. I wonder who designed it.

In terms of the awards won, I was SO so happy to see Ben Affleck win twice for his amazing portrayal of Argo, as well as humbled by Hugh Jackman’s talent and sensibility, that majestically carried out the entire movie in Les Miserables. Daniel Day Lewis also fully deserved his win for Lincoln, as well as the crazy Quentin Tarantino for his ongoing thrilling work. Jessica Chastain is a true inspiration, as is Anne Hathaway. I was also very happy to see the incredibly young Jennifer Lawrence win, as well as new mom Adele for her soundtrack for Skyfall.
