On October 10th 2006, the Romanian academic community suffered a great loss, the passing away of Professor Mircea Mihailescu, an undeniable valuable, dynamic personality. Blessed with a tremendous energy, he worked until his last day, leaving behind several unfinished projects, due to a sudden heart attack. He was 86. I spent this past Wednesday - my last day in college - touring and having lunch at the latest New York Times building on Eight Avenue, in front of the Port Authority Bus Terminal. My Honors class professor, Mitchel Levitas, who has worked for the Times for decades, presented us with a gift by inviting us there. The 2009 Romanian Broadway Festival

This event takes place every year on May 2nd, downtown, at Broadway with Wall St, in honor of the extensive Romanian community in NY. This year celebrated its 10th Edition. It was my first time.
